During our week away from work, we had a lot of snow up here in Washington. Probably not a lot for folks who are used to such wintry weather, but for us it was plenty of snow. And it snowed again for a while last night! Fortunately, it’s all pretty much cleared up so our snowy street is now merely a memory, but it was a very pleasant one.

Games are always a part of the holiday gift giving nowadays. I’d given my son a copy of Mirror’s Edge for the PS3 for his birthday and he played through quite a bit of it, with me watching him and getting sweaty palms whenever he missed jumping from one impossibly high place to another. To the person(s) who did the sound on this game…I salute you. That dull, squishy thud-thud when you land on pavement is sickening. Good job!
In our house, we’ve gotten mileage from Rockband 2, now that my oldest son and his girlfriend have been visiting us. I’ve learned how to use the guitar, which has not been my strong point; I prefer the drums. For some reason, the drums are easier for me than figuring out which finger has to be on which color while strumming. Since we don’t have a mic stand, my son had to improvise in order to sing and play guitar at the same time. It was pretty funny to see him with the mic dangling over his head, held in place with the hat I knit for him! So cute, in fact, that we shall probably never own a mic stand! =)

And then there’s Little Big Planet…soooo cuuuute! I have gotten hold of a knitting pattern courtesy Simply Knitting magazine for a Sackboy and will be making one very soon. Muahahaha!
To me, that’s a great combination: gaming and knitting, my favorite activities!
Now, can someone work on a knitting pattern dictionary for one of my handhelds, please? Kthxbai!
