Hello. My name is Julia Brasil and I will be your host for the next 10 weeks.
To say that I am pleased to be here would be a gross understatement. I have been an avid reader of Tracy’s blog entries since they first started back in January, and would like to thank her for lending me the space for a while. Hopefully, she won’t mind if I move my Resident Evil figurines next to her EverQuest posters and adjust the height of the blogging chair as I share some of my experiences working as an intern in SOE’s Seattle studio.
But I am getting ahead of myself.
Earlier this year, I was awarded the G.I.R.L. Scholarship and with that, came the opportunity to intern at any of SOE’s studios for 10 weeks. It took some consideration, but I opted for Seattle. Why? For many reasons: to have an excuse to visit Seattle, to use the remaining travel miles on my airline of choice, to wear an actual coat during Autumn for a change and oh yes, to get a sneak peek at The Agency, the game I heard so much about.
During my first week here, not only did I get to have my curiosity satiated, but also saw some of the best decorated cubicles I have ever seen. It was quite an impressive sight, anything from posters and a ping pong table, to a motorcycle and a giant robot. It’s the type of place children imagine working when they picture themselves as grown ups. Once the initial shock subsided, I was shown around and properly introduced to the team.
To be honest, I was expecting the usual mindless work interns are generally submitted to like serving coffee or fixing little things here and there, but, thankfully, my expectations were superseded in the first day. I was given my first assignment: to make the most stylish night club in Prague!
Will I succeed or will my newfound minor Internet celebrity lifestyle prove to be too much to handle?
This and more on next week’s exciting entry, not entitled ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ because it would be too cliché and quite honestly, I am sleeping fine, thankyouverymuch.
*waves* at Julia! I’m one of the multitude of faces you met at Fan Faire, lol. I’m glad you’ll be blogging for us!
Have fun with the nightclub, ask them to let you post some pictures!

The suspense! This is like reality TV show material.
But a blog is good too.
